In view of marked changes in lifestyles and household composition, growing economic disparity, changing expectations with respect to housing quality and new ways of living, the time has come to consider new residential solutions that can be easily adapted to the changing needs and economic situations of today's family. This report discusses various types of housing and adaptability options and includes scenarios to illustrate their economic advantages. It also contains a detailed analysis of ten Canadian projects selected to demonstrate a range of adaptability options in conjunction with the various forms of housing.
