Establishing the National Council on Self-Help Housing
Self-help housing is defined as activities that are performed by the intended occupants or a community group that reduce the cost of providing affordable housing for low- or middle-income households. Establishing a National Council on Self-Help Housing was initiated by the Frontiers Foundation, a non-profit, volunteer-based agency. This document discusses the background to the project, outlines project activities, describes the outcome of a national conference on self-help housing, and summarizes the plan for moving forward with the National Council on Self-Help Housing.
