Evaluating the Feasibility and Developing Design Requirements and Tools for Large-Scale Rainwater Harvesting in Ontario
66602

This two-and-a-half year study investigated the feasibility of widespread residential rainwater harvesting in Ontario. Rainwater harvesting (RWH), the process of collecting run-off rainwater from roof surfaces and storing it for later domestic use, is becoming a major part of sustainable building practices across Canada. The project looked at four areas where improving capacity could help accelerate the adoption of RWH in Ontario: rainwater quality; the design and performance of RWH systems; economic feasibility, and public policy and regulation.
