Cold Climate Radon Mitigation
Exposure to high levels of radon is associated with increased lung-cancer risk. This research project investigates how radon mitigat ors working in climates as cold as Canada successfully conduct the work. Results indicate that while an outside fan with vertical ducting works adequately in temperate parts of North America, the colder parts may require additional measures to avoid icing, such as vent insulation or locating the vent in a heated location.
