First Nations Mold Remediation Case Study: Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve
67296
This study profiles mold remediation efforts in the Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve, a First Nations community in Ontario. It looks at this community's approach to solving mold problems and was based on interviews with key members of the community. To solve its mold problem, Wikwemikong developed champions within the community to build local housing construction and deal with and repair mold damages. This approach resulted in overall cost reductions, a simplified building process and increased interest in new building methods. (© 2011 CMHC)
