First Nations Mold Remediation Case Study: Eel River Bar First Nation
67906
This case study highlights mold remediation efforts in the Eel River Bar First Nation, New Brunswick, a community situated in a low-lying geographic area that, like many other seaside communities, faces the ever-present threat of flooding. Eel River Bar's approach to solving its mold problem included a special emphasis on building up, not just above the water table, but also up above known storm surge flood levels recorded in previous weather-related incidents. Eel River Bar First Nation's housing has seen noticeable improvements over the past five years and will continue to improve as they move toward the development of sound policy, capacity development, improved building practices and sustainable First Nation housing.
