Energy Simulations of Strategies to Achieve Low-Energy, Multi-unit Residential Building Designs in Different Regions of Canada
Through computerized building energy consumption simulation modelling, this research project assessed the insulation, fenestration, airtightness and building systems characteristics for a selected multi-unit residential building to achieve very low levels of space heating energy consumption in cities across Canada. The purpose of the study was to illustrate the extent to which the design of MURBs would have to be improved to reach a very high level of energy performance.
