Assessment of the Takla Landing Contour Trench Wastewater Disposal System
The contour trench wastewater disposal system uses two distribution pipes of some 200-300 metres in length placed along a contour; one pipe receives the sewage and the other rests for about six months. The research showed that this system has good potential for the development of housing in remote or isolated communities, even though there were some operational problems with the system under study. It is well suited for communities in which the housing is located along a narrow strip parallel to a lake or river.
