Survey of In-Suite Space and Domestic Hot Water Heating Systems In Multi-residential Buildings
Historically, space and domestic hot water heating in multi-unit residential buildings has been centralized, but recently, in some parts of Canada, in-suite systems are becoming popular. This study examines the pros and cons of these systems. It found that in-suite systems are achieving acceptance with all stakeholders, and are a viable alternative to central systems. However, they do require more buy-in from the occupants of the individual suites than the traditional type.
