Building Canada: Phase One
63571

This research describes the feasibility study carried out in Nova Scotia and Ontario of the Building Canada concept. Loosely modeled on Building America, the idea is to have expert teams work with builders to re-engineer house plans, construct better homes with new products and save money for buyers. The study focused on reducing construction cost and callbacks for problems. While the results achieved among the five builders involved in the program varied, there appears to be potential for expansion of the concept, for large builders, but it is still in early stages.
