The Transferability of the "Safe in the City" Approach to Youth Homelessness Prevention in Canada
This research documents two British initiatives designed to prevent youth homelessness: Safe in the City and Safe Moves. Both programs employ clusters of separate agencies working collaboratively to deliver services such as life skills training, family mediation, and assistance finding independent accommodation when the home environment may be unsafe. The transferability of this model of service delivery to the Canadian context is discussed, as are existing Canadian initiatives addressing youth homelessness and its prevention.
